Draft

Status: Draft
Version: 0.1.0
Last Updated: 2026-05-16
Owner: Academy Nucleus

Purpose

Academy may integrate with Marketplace to distribute courses, certifications, learning products, and access credentials.

Scope

Marketplace integration may support course purchases, tutor revenue, commissions, royalties, learning credentials, and token utility.

Overview

Academy creates courses, learning paths, certifications, tutor services, and learning products. Marketplace supports discovery, purchase, access control, payment, royalties, commissions, distribution, and revenue accounting.

Marketplace Roles

  • Course storefront
  • Educational product market
  • Tutor service market
  • Certification access layer
  • Token utility surface
  • Revenue distribution layer

Product Types

  • Course
  • Learning path
  • Certification track
  • Workshop
  • Tutor service
  • Template or toolkit
  • DAO training program
  • Enterprise or partner program

Purchase and Access Flow

  1. User browses Marketplace.
  2. User selects a course or learning product.
  3. Marketplace checks listing status.
  4. Accepted payment methods, price, fees, and access rules are shown.
  5. User purchases or redeems access.
  6. Payment or credit use is processed.
  7. Access entitlement is created.
  8. Academy enrollment or content access unlocks.
  9. Tutor, platform, and treasury revenue are accounted for if applicable.
  10. Receipt or order record is created.
  11. Learner progress begins.

Payment Sources

Possible payment sources may include stablecoins, chain-native tokens, $Neurons, locked rewards, internal credits, fiat gateway, vouchers, or partner-sponsored access if implemented. Do not claim a specific payment source is accepted unless it is implemented.

Fee and Distribution Model

Marketplace course commerce may include tutor revenue, platform fee, royalty, operational fee, treasury allocation, marketplace fee, or referral fee. Do not invent percentages or claim final settlement behavior until policy and implementation define it.

Locked Rewards in Marketplace

Locked rewards may support discount, internal credit, restricted catalog, or full payment models if policy and implementation define them. Settlement questions remain Needs Review until final:

  • Does the tutor receive unlocked $Neurons?
  • Does the platform absorb locked reward credit?
  • Are locked rewards burned, transferred, or consumed internally?
  • Are refunds possible?
  • Are there per-course limits?
  • Can locked rewards buy third-party tutor courses?
  • Is spending on-chain or internal?

Governance Touchpoints

Governance may be required for Marketplace fee policy, token payment policy, locked reward spending policy, tutor revenue rules, refunds for token or locked-credit payments, high-risk course categories, dispute resolution rules, and treasury allocation from Marketplace revenue.

Risk Considerations

Commercial listings must not mislead users about rewards, financial outcomes, token value, or product access guarantees.

Additional risks include unclear payment rules, locked reward abuse, tutor self-dealing, refund exploits, low-quality listings, misleading financial courses, and opaque accounting.
